A Whole New Start

So, I haven't blogged in awhile, and thought I should spread the recent news.   I am PREGNANT!!!
Ha, I wish, just kidding.   BUT I did get into Nursing school!   How awesome is that?  I am supposed to start in August of 2011, however, I still have a few pre-reqs I have to finish that I think would be a good idea to do before I actually begin the rigorous program.  I will be going to Nightingale College School of Nursing.  It's a program that just started here in Utah, but the curriculum and college have been in Colorado for years.  It's state accredited, and will have national accreditation by June or July of 2012.  It's only a 16 month program, thus the rigorous part, and will definitely keep me busy. It starts out with class lectures, and I think ends as an online program.  I am so excited, yet nervous to start, but can't wait until I am finished so I can hopefully work in the ICU at Davis hospital where I am currently working as a CNA/Clerk.

Patrick just finished another year at Bountiful High. I am so proud of him.  He works so hard and at the end of the school year it totally pays off.  His students give him letters at the end of the school year telling him how much he has helped them, and got them to where they are at now.  Those letters are so wonderful and inspirational, and that is why he teaches.  I need to find something cute to do with all those letters and he can have them forever.  Was thinking some type of an album, or "blanket" or something.

So now, begins our summer before I start the program.  We both are going to be working a TON to really get some debt paid, and hopefully do a little vacation whether its to CABO again or somewhere close.  Hopefully take Romeo to the park a lot and really let him play.  He loves to run, and he is starting to get a lil chubby.  :) I would like to unwind and have fun before the strict, hectic school schedule sucks me in for 16 months!

Motivated

So, I just took my 2nd physiology exam, and our lab exam, and the outcome???
An 80/100 on written, and a 66/70 on the lab!  Wow...so much better.  So far I am standing at a B- in that class.  I am so stoked about that.  So now, I found out that I can apply for this fall semester for Nursing school.  Going to apply at a few places just to boost up my chances!  I am so excited for this year...one because of hopefully getting into nursing school but also paying off a lot of debt..our 1 year anniversary and being the age of 25!   holy cow  that is scary  hahahaha

Physiology Is HARD! :(

So I knew starting school would be hard, but sometimes I can't believe how hard it gets.   I just took my first physiology exam and I bombed it....I did better than others but lower than the class average!  Class average was a 68% while I got a LOUZY 63%.  Granted I was on vacation with my handsome husband, and missed the study reviews before the test, I still should have done better!  So right now, I am supposed to be studying and not blogging. I started studying, but got bored and here I am.

So our vacation was fun....It stayed pretty cold for being in Mexico.  Temperatures were prob 70-80 but with a cold breeze it felt a lot colder.   Nights got pretty cold too.   We mostly relaxed and sat by the pool.   Went out to eat a few times, and went on a Sunset Cruise.  Which it was FREEZING....saw a LOT of whales though and the water was extremely choppy.  On our way out for the cruise the Mexican Military Patrol boat came up to our boat and said everyone had to wear the life jackets..which was weird cause we never had to before. They ended up telling us that an older couple from Canada drowned the day before....So SAD!

Today, I am going to Nightengale College with my mom, to decided whether Eagle Gate is the best choice of school or not.  So far, its been really expensive...almost $3,000 a CLASS! You probably would pay that at Weber for 12 or more credits!!!
Well, I better get back to this lovely physiology book!!!

oh..p.s   Heard the greatest quote yesterday on Teen Mom..."The past is history, the future is a mystery, and now is a gift that is why they call it the present"
ahhhhh love it!

Sad but So Excited!

So, I know I just started Women In Motion, and had set the goal to walk/run the 13mile run....BUT I got a BrAnD new JOB!!!  I am so excited about this, I can hardly keep a smile off my face!
Say hello to the new CNA at Davis Hospital and Medical Center!  hahaha  I know, I am a RATARD, but hey I think it's cool.  I will be working in the ICU as a CNA/Unit Clerk.  I think this is a start to a new chapter in my life. I am so glad I will be back working in the hospital again.  I know that's where I am supposed to be!
I am also excited for this, because Davis Hospital has added on and renovated a lot of things including the ICU.  The pay is actually really good for just starting out as a CNA, so I am happy that our Financial problem is going to finally get better!
Anyway, Just wanted to tell you my exciting NEWS !

17 Weeks to Complete my Goal......

Every Journey Begins With A Single Step......

Arlena has an internship with this program at Weber State University called Women in Motion.  It's a program that helps you change your motivation for exercise and eating healthy.  It also helps change your mental and physical well-being.  I decided to join this program and try it out...kinda like a New Years Resolution thing.  The program has a class that teaches you how to eat healthy, shop for healthier groceries, change your attitude, deal with stress, and just keep you motivated just in everyday life.  Not only is it going to be a fun program in that aspect but you are with WOMEN who feel the same way!  How cool is that?  At the end of the program you get to attend and participate in the Ogden Marathon.   You can either walk 3 miles, or 13 which is half of the 26 mile marathon.  I am setting a goal to walk and run the half part which is 13 miles!  I think it is a great goal to achieve, not only will it keep me healthy but it will also keep me in shape!   So excited for it.  I have a friend that is doing this with me as well as Arlena who is a great leader in this program!  Wish me Luck!  Maybe I can get Pat to walk with me during this program!!  Who knows. :)
